The Frankfort Boat Club is a private cooperative dedicated to safe, community-focused boating on the Kentucky River. While we welcome inquiries from new boating enthusiasts, please note that our facilities operate on a cooperative membership model with specific requirements for vessel safety and insurance.
Step 1: Become a Club Member The first step to accessing our downtown Frankfort docks is to apply for general club membership. This allows you to join our community, participate in club events, and establishes your seniority for future amenities. Dues are $50.00 per year.
Step 2: Join the Mooring Waiting List Once you are an active member in good standing, you may submit a secondary application for a seasonal slip. Due to high demand and our central location at Riverboat Landing, we currently maintain a waiting list for summer dockage.
The Frankfort Boat Club operates as a member-run cooperative. Membership provides full access to our facilities at 101 Riverboat Landing, including restrooms, shower house, 24-hour dock access, and complimentary ice.
Household Membership: Includes the primary member and their spouse or partner.
Guest Policy: Non-members must be accompanied by an active member at all times when using the docks or vessels.
Insurance Requirement: All vessels must carry a minimum of liability insurance.
Initiation Fee: $500 (One-time fee upon joining).
Annual Dues: $50 per year.
Summer Season (May 1 – Oct 31):
Vessels up to 25ft: $500 flat rate.
Vessels over 25ft: $500 + $3.00 per additional foot, per month.
Winter Season (Nov 1 – April 30):

To keep our club affordable, we rely on member labor. Every membership includes a 25-hour annual maintenance commitment. Members who prefer not to work may buy out their hours at a rate of $30/hr.
Annual Maintenance Total: $750 (Value of 25 hours).
Example 1 if you have a boat 25' or under: (No hours worked): $1,300 total annual cost (Dues + Dockage + Maintenance).
Example 2 (10 hours worked): $1,000 total annual cost (Dues + Dockage + Remaining Maintenance).
Example 3 (All 25 hours worked): $550 total annual cost (Dues + Dockage only).
